This is reported by GMTI 2019, which was developed in conjunction with the Singapore Crescent Rating and Mastercard. These ten countries also include Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia. The report notes that Uzbekistan is on the 18th place in the world in the list for Muslim tourists amenities. Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkey lead the list. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan occupy the 19th and 20th places after Uzbekistan.
Earlier the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism development invited the General Manager of Crescent Rating International Fazal Bahardin to take part in the First International Forum on Ziyarah Tourism in Bukhara, on February 21-23, 2019.
Within the framework of the forum, a meeting between the Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism development Abdulaziz Akkulov and Fazal Bakhardin was held, two sides agreed on the timely exсhange of information about the changes and improvements in the tourism sector, particularly in muslim travel.
Following the results of the forum, an Understanding Memorandum was signed between the “National PR-Center” State Unitary Enterprise of the State Committee and the Crescent Rating agency.
In addition, in recent years, the liberalization of the visa regime for citizens of many foreign countries and the introduction of a visa-free regime for a number of countries has increased the attractiveness of Uzbekistan in the global tourism market.
Important to note, such factors as a climate, security, economy, religion, transport infrastructure and services are included in GMTI 2019 global rating.
