Business forum with participation of representatives of tourism sectors of Uzbekistan and China

On July 31, a business forum with participation of representatives of tourism sectors of the People's Republic of China was held at the International Hotel in Tashkent. The forum was dedicated to promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in China and strengthening business ties between representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries.

The business forum was organized on the initiative of the tourism companies of Uzbekistan «Travel Together» and China «Fei Jing Tourism», with the support of the Tourism Committee. It was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors of Uzbekistan and China, including government officials, businessmen and investors, as well as heads of leading hotel brands and tourism companies of the two countries.

«Last year, about 45 thousand tourists from the People's Republic of China arrived in Uzbekistan, and this year a significant increase in this figure is expected. In this context, bilateral relations in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and China are of particular importance. It should be noted that the number of people wishing to get to know the historical monuments, rich cultural heritage and picturesque nature of your country is growing. This is beneficial for the bilateral exchange of tourists», said Wei Zhei, head of the «Fei Jing Tourism» company.

«In order to sharply increase the number of tourists from China to Uzbekistan, we are working on new projects. Last year, «Travel Together» organized trips for about 10 thousand Chinese citizens to Uzbekistan. We also develop affordable tour packages for the population of our country and organize quality travel. I would like to emphasize once again that the events held are important for the quality rest of citizens of the two countries. Our company operates on the basis of significant experience. This year, we launched direct flights from China to Tashkent and Samarkand in cooperation with Long Air», said Bobur Mirzaakhmedov, founder of Travel Together.

During the forum, B2B meetings were held between representatives of Uzbekistan and China, at which the participants discussed the current state of the tourism sector and explored new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. The forum ended with the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding between travel companies of Uzbekistan and China.

For reference: the delegation of the Tourism Committee participated in exhibitions and fairs in Urumqi, Shanghai and Shenzhen, held from January 19 to 25 this year. In addition, throughout the year, the image of our country's tourism sector has been promoted on the online platform «Ctrip.com», which has more than 500 million subscribers. As a result, to date, the number of tourists from China who have visited our country has exceeded 30 thousand.
