Uzbekistan has a rich history and culture. The promotion of the positive image is one of the most important strategies of our economy.
In this regard, on June 11, 2020, the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a video conference on the topic “Measures to strengthen the image of Uzbekistan in the international arena” with the participation of international expert, professor Simon Anholt. The representatives of various ministries and institutions of Uzbekistan also took part in the online meeting.
Simon Anholt is the founder of the “national branding” concept, working as an independent adviser to governments of many countries around the world on a wide range of issues, from the national branding to promotion of tourism and investment, from holding major events to public diplomacy and improving cultural relations. Among the works of Simon Anholt the most famous are “Brand America”, ”Competitive Identity: the New Brand Management for Nations”, “Cities and Regions”, and “Places: Image, Identity and Reputation”.
Professor Simon Anholt has developed Good Country Index. The index is aimed at measuring the level of countries that contribute to the development of the planet and all humankind. Countries are ranked by indicators of such areas, as science and technology, culture, international peace and security, prosperity and equality, health and well-being.
During the conference, participants shared proposals for implementing the concept of the national brand of Uzbekistan. Professor S.Anholt spoke about an exclusive article that talked about the potential of our country and the necessary measures to improve the image and strengthen the competitiveness of Uzbekistan among the world states.
At the end of the meeting, professor S.Anholt confirmed his readiness to take a direct part in the development of the concept of the national brand of Uzbekistan.
