Youth equestrian schools will open in Uzbekistan

The Presidential Decree "On the state program for the development of horse breeding, equestrian sports, modern pentathlon and polo among young people in Uzbekistan until 2025" was adopted in July 2021.

In accordance with the Resolution, it is planned to open specialized equestrian sections in 67 children's and youth sports schools.

Equestrian schools will specialize in the following areas: triathlon, show jumping and dressage, modern pentathlon, polo and ulok-kupkari.

According to the Decree, in 2021-2025, the following will be created:

- 67 sections in children's and youth sports schools in equestrian sports, including 52 sections in modern pentathlon and 15 sections in polo;

- equestrian sports and modern pentathlon sections in each college of the Olympic reserve;

- 170 horse breeding farms in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions for the purpose of breeding purebred and thoroughbred horses.

Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, it is planned to:

- In the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine and its Nukus and Tashkent branches, open a bachelor's degree program for the training of veterinarians and zootechnicians specializing in animal husbandry;

- The Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its Nukus and Ferghana branches will open a special correspondence form of training in the direction of a bachelor's degree in equestrian sports.

The document also prescribes that starting from September 1, 2021, international equestrian tournaments “O'zbekiston Respublikasi Prezidenti kubogi uchun” will be organized in the Tashkent region, “Qarshi Open” - in the Kashkadarya region, “Millatlar kubogi ” in the city of Tashkent.

Until September 1, 2022, a modern stable building for 30 seats and an outdoor sports arena will be built on the territory of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports.
