MALA good book is for a good reader
On this day, people gift books to their friends, relatives, and even strangers. Especially, to those that are in need of a friendship, understanding and emotional support.
Today, Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports, gave his piece of kindness to children who are patients in the Republican oncological scientific center of Uzbekistan. The Minister of Tourism and Sports gave wished the kids good health, faith for a speedy recovery and presented a series of valuable books for cultural leisure of the patients.
Since 2003, with the initiative of the United Nations, February 15 is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Children with Cancer.
The problem of the development of oncological diseases among children in our region is extremely serious. In Uzbekistan, about 900 children fall ill with oncology every year and the survival rate is 30-40%.
In April 2021, the government of our country approved a resolution on the establishment of a Fund to promote the recovery of people suffering from oncohematological and incurable diseases.
According to the resolution, the funds will be used to purchase equipment, medicine, medical devices and laboratory reagents. In addition, the fund will ensure the involvement of highly qualified foreign specialists for complex operations on oncological patients.
The fund will reimburse expenses for the purchase by patients of services for the provision of high-tech diagnostic and medical care in various medical institutions on the territory of the republic.
