From May 1 to 7 of this year, in the open spaces of the village of Padang, Boysun district, Surkhandarya region, a unique festival of the awakening of nature and folklore “Boysun Bahori” will be held.
In the Surkhandarya region, active preparations are underway for the “Boysun Bahori” folklore festival, to which performers of international folk art, craftsmen and folklorists are invited to the Boysun region. It will also be attended by more than 200 representatives of folklore communities operating in Uzbekistan. They will present costumes and song and folklore traditions unique to their territories.
Holding a prestigious festival in the Boysun district, which has unique value and rich intangible cultural heritage, has deep meaning, since in 2001 the cultural space of Boysun was included by UNESCO as a “masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity”, and in May 2002 in the picturesque The first open folklore festival of folk performers of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan took place in the Surkhandarya region.
At the unique festival of folk values and traditions, a large place is devoted to national competitions in wrestling, ethnic sports, cycling marathon, ulak-kupkari, kite flying, chillak and other folk games.
