Folk games, skiing and snowboarding: the festival “Сhimgan challenge -2022” was held in Chimgan

Today, on February 18, the grand opening of the annual festival of winter extreme and mass sports “Chimgan challenge-2022” took place in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region.

The official opening was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Deputy Head of Tashkent region Jamshid Babajanov, after which a solemn descent of skiers and snowboarders with flags of the Republic of Uzbekistan began from the top of the cable car.

The National Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as a dance group and artists performed to warm up the participants during the festival.

The festival was attended by winter sports athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, France, Germany and Korea, representatives of government agencies responsible for promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as sports enthusiasts. The participants of the event competed side by side in such disciplines as downhill skiing, snowboarding, tug of war and archery.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the festival, a training seminar was held for civil servants responsible for promoting a healthy lifestyle. On the second day of the festival, chess, mini-football and badminton competitions were held. At the end of the event, the winners of this festival were solemnly awarded.

In recent years, along with other types of tourism in the country, the government has been paying attention to the development of mountain tourism, because Uzbekistan is known not only for ancient cities, but also for beautiful mountains. It is also worth noting that tourism is available in the country all year round, regardless of the season.

At the festival, the relevant departments are involved to ensure the safety and health of participants on the tracks and sports grounds.
