MALFutsal World Cup: how Uzbekistan is preparing for the competition
The Futsal World Cup will be held from September 14 to October 6, 2024 in three cities of Uzbekistan: Andijan, Bukhara and Tashkent.
For the organization and holding of competitions at a high level, the following were approved by presidential decree:
- the composition of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the 2024 World Futsal Championship;
- a set of measures for the preparation and holding of the 2024 Futsal World Cup.
In June and August of this year, the route of the "Trophy experience" futsal tour will be developed and implemented in the republic, which will present the main prize of the championship to the public – the World Cup.
A special online platform will also be developed for the identification of accredited persons, registration and ticket verification and using QR codes.
In the period from August to October 2024, 50% discount on train tickets will be provided for persons accredited to the event, as well as foreign and domestic fans with tickets to World Cup matches. In addition, they will be able to use public transport for free: buses and the metro.
For reference: sports infrastructure is developing in the republic, conditions are being created at the level of international standards. With this in mind, FIFA has decided to hold the World Futsal Championship in Uzbekistan this year.
The 24 strongest teams in the world will take part in the tournament. Distinguished guests from the participating countries and more than 30 thousand fans are expected to arrive.
Earlier, the draw for the upcoming competitions took place in Samarkand. According to its results, athletes from Uzbekistan will compete with teams from Paraguay, Costa Rica and the Netherlands in the "A" category.
