08.10.2021 1508

Within the framework of the USAID Project for the Development of Entrepreneurship and the Business Environment "Future Growth Initiative (FGI)", the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan (APTA) is successfully implementing the project "Development of CBT tourism in Uzbekistan, through improving the professional competencies of rural residents". The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the first stage, marketing studies of promising regions of Uzbekistan for the development of CBT tourism were conducted, as well as informational meetings were organized in the regions of the country with those wishing to open a family guest house. Educational seminars and trainings were organized for those wishing to open their own business in the hospitality industry.

Taking into account the high interest of business circles and the high potential for tourism development in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the project organized 10 five-day (for owners of guest houses, as well as potential owners of guest houses) and 5 two-day (for CBT chain participants) training seminars in promising CBT tourism destinations in Bukhara, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, which were attended by 308 participants.

Much attention was paid to the gender issue (62% of participants were women) and the implementation of youth initiatives. 113 young people took part in the seminars.

At the seminars, local residents were taught the basics of organizing guest houses, business management, marketing, basic forms of reporting, cost and income planning. Also, the participants of the seminars developed new tourist routes, compiled a menu of national and European dishes. Thanks to the activities of the project, it was possible to improve existing and create new jobs.

Within the framework of the project, it was possible to solve a number of tasks and prepare a whole range of training modules, handouts and book manuals:

1. Textbook "Rural tourism: from theory to practice"

2. Training modules "Organization of effective activities of the guest house" and "Organization of activities of participants in the CBT chain"

3. The guide "Success of the guest house"

4. Recommendations for the implementation of the system "UZBEKISTAN. SAFE TRAVEL GUARANTEED" in family guest houses

5. An advertising and handout booklet has been prepared - "Rest in guest houses of Uzbekistan"

Therefore, in partnership with the National PR Center, was prepared a video highlighting the activities carried out within the framework of the project. This visual product of the project team will be demonstrated both on the screens of popular TV channels of Uzbekistan and through distribution on social networks.
