The International Cultural Forum "Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations" has started in Khiva

The holiday is rejoicing again in the ancient streets of Khiva with launched here - yesterday, September 14, the International Cultural Forum “Central Asia at the crossroads of world сivilizations”.

The Forum is held jointly with UNESCO on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which was announced at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

The grand opening of the forum was held at the foot of the Kunya-Ark architectural ensemble in Ichan-Kala.

The forum was opened by Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov.

In continuation of the Week of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, festive introductions and theatrical shows of Khiva folk folklore masters and a gala concert with the participation of Uzbek performers were held here in Khiva.

Today, on September 15, the key event of the forum will be the opening of the meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the TURKSOY countries. Within the framework of the program, a report on the events within the framework of "Khiva – the cultural capital of the Turkic world", a presentation on the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2022, as well as the election of the Secretary General of the Turkic Republic for 2021-2024 will be heard.
