January 14: Defenders of the Motherland Day

Defenders of the Motherland Day holds a special place in Uzbekistan. On this day in 1992, the country established its national military structure and formed the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is customary to congratulate all men regardless of age, especially those who have served in the military. However, even those who have not served are not overlooked, as the younger generation represents the nation’s future.

On January 14, festive concerts are held, the national anthem is performed in public squares, and celebrations and ceremonial demonstrations are organized in honor of military personnel. On this day, people also remember great historical figures and commanders who made a significant contribution to the defense of the Motherland.
