Karabair Equestrian School will be opened in Uzbekistan

15.09.2021 2110

This is provided for by the new Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 5, 2021 on the further development of equestrian sports in the republic.

The Karabair Equestrian School will be established on October 1, 2021 on the basis of the structure of the National Guard of Uzbekistan on the territory of the Yangiabad mahalla of the Termez district of Surkhandarya region.

The Karabair is a special breed of Central Asian horses. Historically, this breed was bred on the basis of incest of steppe Mongolian and Turkmen horses. The climate had a huge influence on the breed: the animals grazed in the mountains and foothills, which contributed to the development of endurance and strength.

An amazing feature of the Karabair breed is its ability to walk with a jurga (amble). Their speed at the same time is 8-9 km/h, but the course is smooth when moving across the endless steppes.

Keeping on mountain pastures, as well as using it for work in mountainous areas, contributed to the fact that the Karabair horse developed a good adaptability to mountain conditions and specific qualities of a mountain-type horse.

The new resolution supports the initiative of the khokimiyat (administration) of the Surkhandarya region to purchase horses of the Karabair breed at the expense of the local budget of the Surkhandarya region and the military-administrative sectors for their further gratuitous use by those engaged in the Karabair equestrian school.

The resolution also provides for the organization of annual international competitions of riders with the participation of horses of the Karabair breed on the eve of the national holiday "Navruz", as well as competitions in national types of equestrian sports, modern pentathlon, polo, ulok-kupkari-at the level of the mahalla, district, region and republic

Until January 1, 2022, the document prescribes to organize sections and clubs of the Karabair equestrian school in all districts of the Surkhandarya region.
