The Khorezm Lazgi dance, which occupies a special place in the rich history of dance art in our country, is known not only in Uzbekistan but also abroad for its distinctive performance style and captivating appeal. The inclusion of the Khorezm Lazgi dance in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity also testifies to its uniqueness as an art form.

On April 27, the grand opening ceremony of the "Lazgi" III International  Dance Festival took place at the Ichan Kala architectural complex. As part of the event, a congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was read out to the festival participants, officially presented by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.

In 2026, the festival is being held for the third time, bringing together more than 300 talented dancers, professional dance ensembles, choreographers, musicologists, art historians, renowned performers, and distinguished guests from over 30 countries worldwide.

As part of the festival, in order to support and encourage outstanding performers, participants will be awarded in such categories as “Best Dance,” “Best Choreographed Dance,” and “Best Young Dancer,” along with incentive prizes and awards.
