The international travel magazine "Lonely Planet" published the top rating of countries for travel in 2020. According to the publication, the first place was taken by the Central Asian countries of the silk road: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Lonely Planet is one of the most popular publishing company specializing in the production of travel guides for tourists. Founded in 1972, it has about 300 authors.

Its headquarter is located in Australia.

The Central Asian region at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, being a popular trade route many centuries ago, is again in the centre of tourists’ attention around the world.

"Ancient cities, bustling bazaars and wild landscapes of Central Asia attract more and more tourists looking for adventure on one of the most legendary historical and tourist routes. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan now offer visa-free entry to the country, or e-visas for most of the world's citizens; the region also plans to create a single "silk road" visa within these countries. Meanwhile, major transport and infrastructure investments – most of them from the international Chinese project “One Belt, One Road”, make travel along the modern silk road more accessible than ever before."- notes the publication.
