Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavashoglu today visited the Margilan Center for the Development of Crafts and got acquainted with the art of handmade national fabrics and ancient carpets.

Mevlut Cavashoglu noted that such Uzbek fabrics as satin and adras are very popular not only in Turkey, but also around the world. The foreign delegation was particularly impressed by the unique traditions of hand embroidery, passed down from generation to generation.

Recall that in 2017, by the decision of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, the technology of making Uzbek traditional atlas and adras was included in the UNESCO Register of Best Practices for the Preservation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The unique practice was named "Margilan Center for the Development of crafts, the protection of atlas and adras, creating traditional technologies".

After an impressionable trip to Margilan, Mevlut Cavusoglu went to the Altyaryk district - the land of juicy melons and grapes.
