The “National Pavilion of Uzbekistan” was in the spotlight at COP28

The Tourism Committee, headed by Umid Shadiyev, presented the “National Pavilion of Uzbekistan” to the local population, media, and delegations at the “EXPO 2020 Dubai” exhibition in the UAE.

A forum on the topic of “Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan: Sustainability, Green Agenda, and Cooperation with the Middle East Countries” was held within the pavilion. The event was organized to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism industry on the international stage, with a focus on bringing together experts, representatives of the industry, government officials, and the scientific community to discuss innovative approaches and strengthen cooperation with the Middle East.

The forum was attended by Aziz Abduxakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environment and Climate Change, Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, and representatives of foreign companies.

The first part of the forum was dedicated to the topic of “Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan: Developing Sustainable and Green Tourism”. During the event, global trends in sustainable tourism were analyzed, attention was paid to further development of the industry, as well as innovative methods of increasing environmental sustainability in this industry, including initiatives aimed at developing sustainable tourism in Uzbekistan. The second half of the forum emphasized the role of tourism in strengthening cultural ties between Uzbekistan and the Middle East countries. The role of infrastructure and investments, marketing strategies for attracting tourists from the region, as well as innovative approaches to creating tourist destinations were also highlighted.
