MALA press conference was held before the World Cup
On May 18, the World Cup competitions “World Triathlon Cup Samarkand – 2024” and the Uzbekistan Triathlon and Paratriathlon Championship “World Triathlon Para Cup Samarkand – 2024” will begin in Samarkand.
In this regard, today, before the international competition, a press conference was held at the Hilton Regency Hotel in Samarkand with the participation of the competition organizers.
The event was attended by the leadership of the International Triathlon Federation and the Triathlon Federation of Uzbekistan, as well as officials from the Ministry of Sports, the administration of the Samarkand region and a number of other organizations.
During the press conference, officials spoke in detail about the significance of the prestigious international competition, the choice of Uzbekistan as the host country and the work done in this direction.
In recent years, the leadership of our country has carried out a number of reforms to develop and popularize sports. As a result, Uzbekistan has been entrusted with hosting prestigious world and continental competitions.
In turn, holding international competitions in our country serves to attract the attention of the world to Uzbekistan and further increase the flow of tourists from foreign countries.
For information, 270 athletes from 52 countries are expected to participate in the World Championships in Samarkand. In total they will compete for 218 sets of medals.
