A program for the development of cycling has been approved in Uzbekistan

Cycling is a great way for a healthy lifestyle and an opportunity to get in good shape.

September, 24 this year, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a new program for the development of cycling sport in Uzbekistan was approved.

The document prescribes that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with relevant ministries and departments, should draw up a program for the development of various types of cycling for 2021-2022.

In accordance with the program, a Republican boarding school of cycling skills will be created for the 2022-2023 academic years, which will be included in the system of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Also, according to the document, measures will be taken until 2022-2023 to open a Republican boarding school for cycling skills and departments for cycling types in children's and youth sports schools and specialized children's and youth institutions of the Olympic reserve.

A sports club of professional cyclists will be created under the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan. The documents describe the order of organization and sources of financing of the Club's activities.

The document also prescribes the organization of several major international competitions in 2022:

-international road and mountain cycling races in the Tashkent region – Oqtosh-Chorvoq-Mountain, in Karakalpakstan and Samarkand region - Save-Aral;

-international cycling races in track cycling in Tashkent-Silk-Road Tashkent, in Namangan - Silk-Road Namangan;

- international Motocross Bike Race BMX Racing in the Jizzakh region - Zaamin-Cup;

- international Freestyle competition BMX Freestyle in Tashkent - Tashkent-Grand Prix.

For these competitions, the appropriate production infrastructure will be built, including the construction of a new bicycle highway in the Bostanlyk district, intended for holding national and international road cycling competitions in the area, as well as the construction of a closed-type sports facility for holding international and national track cycling competitions.
