MALRegistration for the third annual Samarkand Half Marathon charity race is open
Samarkand Half Marathon is an annual charity race organized by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Administration of the Samarkand region.
November 5 and 6 will be devoted to educational and cultural programs, in which concerts and film screenings are waiting for guests and participants of the race, and on November 7 the race itself will take place.
The main goal of the half marathon is to draw public attention to the problem of inclusivity at the country's cultural and art facilities, as well as to popularize a healthy lifestyle and develop sports tourism in Uzbekistan.
This year, the attention of the organizers of the Samarkand Marathon is focused on the employment of persons with disabilities in cultural institutions.
At the Samarkand Half Marathon you can run any distance:
- Half marathon – 21 km;
- 10 km race and 2 km distance;
- Nordic walking – 2 km.
All the participants of the race who have met the time for each distance will receive commemorative medals of finishers at the finish.
Each registered participant receives a race T-shirt, a branded bag and a number with a chip that will determine the exact time of the finish.
This year, a prize fund has been established for the winners. Men and women in the absolute standings from 1st to 3rd places will be awarded with cash prizes. More detailed information about the prizes and the rules of the race can be found on the website samarkandhalfmarathon.uz .
