Samarkand International Airport has entered the top five largest air hubs in Europe

Samarkand International Airport has entered the TOP 5 largest airports in Europe in terms of passenger traffic growth in the ranking of the European division of the International Airports Council (Airports Council International, ACI Europe).

By the end of October, Samarkand Airport took 4th place in the category of regional and small airports with passenger traffic from 100,000 to 1 million passengers per year with an increase of 139% compared to October 2019, and at the end of 10 months – 3rd place with an increase of 103.7% compared to the same period in 2019.

The airport's route network continues to expand, and since the beginning of this year flights from Samarkand have been operated to 7 domestic and 20 international destinations. Of these, Tel Aviv, Urumqi, Jeddah, Kuwait, Izmir, Mineralnye Vody, Ufa and Samara, Urgench were opened for the first time.
