In spring, nature awakens, blooms, and fills the air with intoxicating scents. Sayri Lola is an ancient festival celebrated over several days, especially beloved by young people. On the first day, festivities called sail take place. Youth gather around large trees and tie tulips to the branches while making wishes. Dances, circle dances, and songs are performed.
On the second day, it is customary to visit cemeteries, mausoleums, and holy sites. Near a saint’s tomb, people pray to the Almighty for the forgiveness of the deceased, often drinking water from a sacred source.
The Tulip Festival continues to be celebrated in Uzbekistan today, with large exhibitions, performances, and displays of floral arrangements and flowerbeds during the blooming period.
