Shirin Mahalla in Bukhara Region Granted the Status of "Ethnotourism Village"

Shirin Mahalla, located in Vobkent District of Bukhara Region, has been granted the status of "Ethnotourism Village".

The ceremony was attended by the leadership of the Bukhara Region Hakimiyat, the regional department of the Tourism Committee, Bukhara State University, the Hakimiyat of Vobkent District, representatives of the public and the media.

The participants of the event noted that more than 20 guest houses, about 10 handicraft centers, more than 20 trade and catering points, about 30 types of fishing services, cooking halva, preparing salted nuts, Wi-Fi points for foreign and local tourists are opened by proactive entrepreneurs in the tourist village of Shirin, which creates the opportunity for employment for more than 300 people.

It was noted that given the fact that this village has recently become one of the most popular tourist locations for foreign tourists, it is planned to carry out large-scale work on the further formation of the ethnotourism village, the development of the activities of the "Shirin etno house" center, the manufacture of a handicraft center, ancient sandalwood houses, agricultural equipment, horse and camel rides, an ancient stone mill, as well as beekeeping, the preparation of salted and national sweets, confectionery.
