Today, October 18, Samarkand residents celebrate the City Day.
In honor of the City Day, the city administration organizes various festive events.
From early morning, a visit to the mausoleum of Amir Temur and a flower-laying ceremony at the foot of the monument to Sohibkiran will take place with the participation of the heads of the region and the city and the general public.
On the same day, it is planned to commission new buildings of the Presidential School, the building of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, the House-Museum of Mahmudkhoja Bekhbudi, the Samarkand branch of the private joint-stock bank "Trustbank" and the launch of a new project of the Sino plant.
Samarkand residents will be pleased with the long-awaited event - the opening of Alisher Navoi Street, popularly called Leninskaya, and the new building of the mahalla "Amir Temur".
The concert program will begin at 18:00. The Mujiza Amphitheater will host a gala concert and an award ceremony for the winners of the contest "Singing of Samarkand".
Throughout the day, cultural concert programs under the motto "My dear, Samarkand!" will be held in several urban areas of Samarkand, in the Zarafshan Park of the village of Farkhod, as well as at the Nurafshon Palace of Arts.
It is worth noting that on the day of the celebration of the City Day, entrance to the territory of historical monuments of Samarkand and to state museums will be free. - the press service of the Samarkand city administration reports.
