The first volunteer festival will be held in Uzbekistan

On April 27-28, at the “Hilton-Tashkent” hotel the festival of volunteers will be held in Uzbekistan.

The festival is held in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 4, 2021 and the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 12, 2022 "On measures to further support volunteering activities "in 2021-2025, in accordance with the Concept of civil society development.

At the festival, international experts, activists of volunteer movements, ministries and government agencies are expected to participate in the field of social protection.

On December 2, 2019, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law "on the activity of volunteers" and approved the status of volunteers for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of volunteering is to help individuals and legal entities, society as a whole, to protect the environment, to participate in socially significant events with the consent from organizers, to form a civil position, for self-organization, a sense of social responsibility, solidarity, mutual assistance and compassion in society.

According to the document, individuals who have reached 18 years can carry out volunteering. Individual from 16 to 18 years are permitted to engage in voluntary activities if they do not harm their health or moral development and do not violate their educational process.

The main organizer of the festival - the Ministry of Tourism and cultural heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
