This was reported on the website of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

Due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation, the Government of Saudi Arabia has allowed all countries, especially Muslim majority countries such as Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran and Egypt, to organize Umrah pilgrimage.

On March 20, 2022, the last group of Uzbek citizens, who fully paid the expenses for the Umra-2020 season, but did not travel in 2020 due to the pandemic of COVID-19, left to Saudi Arabia.

“The work on sending 23 thousand of our compatriots to visit Umrah has been completed, " - said the press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

Currently, organizational and practical work is underway to conduct Umrah during the month of Ramadan and Shawwal (after Ramadan).

In particular, for this purpose, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan negotiated with representatives of the company on the Umrah pilgrimage, which will be organized in Ramadan, and will reach a mutual agreement on travel prices.

It should be noted that despite the increase in the cost of services in Saudi Arabia during the month of Ramadan, as a result of efforts and agreements with the Arabs, the current travel expenses of pilgrims will be reimbursed at the end of the Umrah season (after Ramadan).

The press service also said that, taking into account the requirements and the desires of Uzbeks to preform Umrah, the issue of partial organization of travel to Umrah through tourist companies is being considered.
