As part of the international tourism exhibition Tourism EXPO Japan 2025, taking place in Japan, a special award ceremony was held by UN Tourism.
This prestigious award is presented to unique, innovative, and relevant projects that meet the criteria of corporate and regional social responsibility, as outlined in the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
The Tourism Committee received the “UN Tourism Special Award” for its project titled “Tourism Villages – Sustainable Tourism Development.”

The project focuses on respecting and utilizing local nature, lifestyle, culture, and traditions, while enhancing the attractiveness of tourist destinations through cooperation between the public and private sectors. It aims to create jobs, promote sustainable tourism, and support long-term regional development.
For reference: In 2023, the tourism village of Sentob in Uzbekistan was recognized as one of the Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism. At today’s event, the project was once again highlighted as a model for other countries and recommended as a successful example of a sustainable tourism village.
