The Uzbek delegation will take part in the World Championship in Sports Acrobatics, which will be held February 2-7, 2022 in Oktyabrsk, Russia.
Acrobatics is a form of gymnastic exercise in which acrobatic jumps, balance exercises with or without sports equipment, as well as strength, agility, and other special exercises are combined.
The history of gymnastics in Uzbekistan began in 1904 with the establishment of the Society of Gymnastics and Exercise Lovers. By 1912, the first gymnastics societies were formed in Kokand, Fergana and Samarkand.
In 1915, the first gymnastics courses were opened at the Women's Gymnasium in Tashkent. Polina Vladimirovna Garfung, who later made a significant contribution to the development of gymnastics in Uzbekistan, completed these courses. Rhythmic gymnastics, like other sports, has become the property of the general public. Strengthening the health of the population through physical culture and sports is one of the tasks of the state.
We wish our athletes great victories and happy moments in this 6-day sports competition.
