Uzbekistan and Russia discuss new cooperation opportunities in tourism

As part of the “Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in the Russian Federation”, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, at the national pavilion of Uzbekistan at VDNKh in Moscow, presentations of the tourism potential of our country were held for more than 60 representatives of the tourism business of Moscow and the Moscow region.

During the event, the head of the Uzbek delegation, First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee Djamshid Abdusalamov, presented information on the reforms in the tourism sector that have been implemented in our country in recent years, as well as new tourist destinations.

The Russian side was represented by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development Sangadzhi Tarbaev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Mayor and the Moscow Government and Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee Yevgeny Kozlov and Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Maya Lomidze.

During the events, a special edition of the magazine “RussianTraveler” dedicated to the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was presented.

The colorful illustrated publication “Uzbekistan – An Eastern Fairy Tale” fully reveals to readers the attractive aspects of visiting all regions and cities of Uzbekistan, highlighting the rich culture, traditions, picturesque landscapes, cuisine, and hospitality of the Uzbek people.

The leading Russian tourism magazine “RussianTraveler” has 2 million social media followers, while the magazine's official page has about 4 million views per month.

The special edition has been printed in 10,000 copies and is being distributed among leading Russian tour operators and companies, as well as in Moscow's airports and among business circles in Russia.

B2B and B2G meetings were organized for representatives of the tourism sectors of both countries to exchange experiences and establish new business contacts.

Guests were also given a tour of the Uzbekistan pavilion, which showcases the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Additionally, attendees tasted Uzbek cuisine and got acquainted with the rich culture of Uzbekistan.
