The village of Oqsoy, located in the Nurabad District of the Samarkand Region, has been awarded a certificate confirming its status as a Tourist Village.
A solemn ceremony was held in the village of Oqsoy, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee Sardor Niyazov, officials from the regional and district hokimiyats (local administrations), as well as representatives of the public and media.
Speakers at the event emphasized the special attention being paid to the tourism sector in our country, the ongoing reforms aimed at developing tourism infrastructure, and the potential to boost the economy and regional appeal through the development of tourist villages.
Currently, around 20 family-run guest houses operate in the village of Oqsoy. Security cameras have been installed, roads have been repaired, a parking lot has been paved, irrigation ditches have been concreted, and the village’s tourism infrastructure has been fully digitized.
The establishment of the Oqsoy Tourist Village is expected to contribute to regional tourism development, create new jobs, expand entrepreneurship, and improve the standard of living for the local population.
