"Ziyarah tourism week" was held in the historical cities of Uzbekistan

The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism has ended in Uzbekistan. Major events were held in 4 historical cities: Samarkand, Khiva, Bukhara and Tashkent.

The rich cultural and business program, which included seminars, round tables, international exhibitions and conferences, gastronomic festivals, as well as visits to unique pilgrimage sites left an indelible impression on the guests and participants of the Week, which included more than 50 leading Islamic scholars from around the world.

Numerous events dedicated to the development of Ziyarah tourism in Uzbekistan were successfully held in the capital, including an exhibition of national costumes in the Tashkent Gallery of National Costume, a conference dedicated to "Halal tourism" at the International Islamic Academy, a round table dedicated to the "Islamic Economy", a festival of "Halal food" in the Navruz thematic park. The main core of the events of the The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism in Tashkent were trips to the complexes "Khazrati Imam", "Suzuk Ota", as well as to the Center of Islamic Civilization.

No less interesting events were held in the main tourist pearls of Uzbekistan in Samarkand and Bukhara.

One of the important places for the pilgrimage of Muslims from all over the world is the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand. It was here that the International Forum "Central Asia – the Center of Islamic Art", as well as the festival of national folklore "Melodies of the Soul" took place within the framework of the The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism.

Two unique exhibitions were held in Samarkand as part of the week of pilgrimage tourism. The first exposition presented ancient copies of the holy Quran stored in the funds of Uzbekistan. One of the most famous copies of the exhibition is a facsimile of the holy Quran "Katta Langar", preserved since the time of al-Bukhari. The exposition was held within the framework of an international conference dedicated to "Improving the system of preservation and research of ancient manuscripts." Along with copies, the genealogy of the Prophet Muhammad is presented at the exhibition. The parchment scroll with the genealogy of the prophet dates back to the XVII century.

In the "Youth Center" of the city of Samarkand, an exhibition "Modern Islamic Architecture" was held in the "Eternal City" complex, a fair in the direction of "Culture of Book studies in Transoxiana".

The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism in Bukhara turned out to be no less eventful.

On the first day of the Week, the conference "Islamic Heritage of Uzbekistan" was held at the Bakhouddin Naqshbandi complex in Bukhara region, where international agreements were signed with major Islamic organizations. A unique exhibition dedicated to Islamic calligraphy was also held as part of the conference.

One of the main events of the The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism in Bukhara was the opening of the Al-Manar Center for Arabic and Islamic calligraphy studies.

The forum participants got acquainted with the center and visited the exhibition "Islamic Calligraphy".

On November 3, the forum "Graduates of the Miri Arab Madrasah" was held in the Bukhara Mono-Center. The event was attended by graduates of the ancient madrasah, as well as foreign guests.

The "National Souvenir Fair" was organized all days of the Week in Bukhara.

This fair, which is held every year in November, has become part of a major international event.

The International Week of Ziyarah Tourism has not spared the unique historical city in Uzbekistan – Khiva, which, by the way, was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2022. On the last day of the events, a scientific and practical conference on the theme "Khiva - 2024 the capital of the world of Islamic tourism" was held here. The prestigious event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, members of the administration of the Khorezm region, the head of the Singapore company CrescentRating Bahardin Mohamed Fazal, the head of the Museum of Turkish and Islamic artifacts Ekrem Aitar and other prominent experts.

For reference: There are more than 8 thousand monuments of material cultural heritage in Uzbekistan. Among them are 1,257 pilgrimage sites, of which 1,183 are Islamic monuments, 57 are Christian, 9 are Buddhist and 8 are Jewish.

This year, Uzbekistan entered the top 10 countries in terms of providing amenities for pilgrimage tourism.
