July 20, the International Chess Day is celebrated all over the world. On the eve of the international holiday July, 17, a unique Chess festival was held in city of Angren in Tashkent region.
Due to quarantine restrictions, this year the festival was held without the participation of fans.
Moving chess pieces, memes on stilts, animation shows, all this gave a real festive mood for the festival participants.
Within the framework of the festival, the final stage of the tournament for the Tashkent region Governor Cup was held.
The competition for Governor Cup was organized in 2 stages. The first stage was held among students of secondary schools, which was attended by more than 2000 participants, 50 of whom were selected to participate in the final stage, held on July, 17 in Angren.
According to the results of the final match, the winners and prize-winners of the competitions, the youngest participants, as well as honorary grandmasters were awarded with medals, diplomas and valuable prizes from the Tashkent region administration.
In addition to the sports games, master classes on chess sports were organized by FIDE masters and honored chess coaches.
The event was organized on the initiative of the Tashkent region administration in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and Sports of the Tashkent region and the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan.
