Aziz Abdukhakimov: Cultural and humanitarian ties are the main agents of knowledge, innovation and prosperity

Within the framework of the International Conference " Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and opportunities " the breakout session"Revival of cultural and humanitarian ties as a way to strengthen friendship and mutual trust" has begun its work.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Director General of UNESCO Stefania Giannini, as well as about 75 experts and heads of international organizations and financial institutions.

In his greeting, Aziz Abdukhakimov noted the importance of forming a single cultural and humanitarian space that can unite people, increase mutual trust and strengthen friendship ties.

"Cultural and humanitarian ties are the main conduits of knowledge, innovation and prosperity. They remain an important component of regional cooperation and play a key role in the implementation of reforms and transformation processes, " the Deputy Prime Minister said.

"It is important to note the comprehensive protection, restoration and popularization of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of our country,  has become one of the main priorities of state policy."

The section also considered the possibilities of cooperation in the field of studying, preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of the countries of Central and South Asia; interaction in the fields of education, social support and protection of the interests of youth, health, science and technology, ecology and tourism.
