Craft Fair Takes Place in Tashkent

On September 26 of this year, the Crafts Fair was held in the Suzuk Ota complex in the Craftsmen mahalla.

At the festival, organized by the Tourism Committee with the support of the Tashkent city administration, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Tashkent city prosecutor's office, about a thousand residents of our country and foreign guests were able to get acquainted with the creative works and examples of handicrafts of skilled craftsmen working in such areas as pottery, jewelry, carving, carpet weaving, making skullcaps, blacksmithing and textile production.

Speaking at the opening ceremony S.Niyazov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee, welcomed the participants and guests of the festival and noted that the existing potential of our country, including crafts, production and the presence of a national craft school, is an important factor attracting the general public and foreign guests. "Craftsmen, national producers and many of our engaged agencies play a major role in increasing the number of tourists, and we express special gratitude to them. Thanks to their efforts, the number of foreign tourists visiting our capital amounted to 2 million 98 thousand people, and local tourists - 3 million 600 thousand," - said S. Niyazov.

The festival also included master classes by artisans, cultural and entertainment events and concert programs.
