On July 8, 2025, the international tourism forum "Uzbekistan – Kuwait" was successfully held in the State of Kuwait. The event was organized by the Tourism Committee with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait. The forum served as an important platform to strengthen bilateral dialogue in the field of tourism, promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Arab countries, and expand partnership ties.
The forum was attended by representatives of government agencies, leading tourism companies, airlines, chambers of commerce and industry, and business circles from both countries. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Umid Shadiev, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Ayubkhon Yunusov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait, and Osamah Hamad Almekhyal, the head of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Information and Culture of the State of Kuwait. They emphasized the importance of strengthening tourism ties and expressed their readiness for active joint cooperation.
During the event, a presentation titled "Uzbekistan — the Pearl of the Silk Road" was showcased, highlighting the country’s tourism potential, rich historical and cultural heritage, unique tourist routes, and modern infrastructure projects. Special attention was given to UNESCO World Heritage sites, pilgrimage tourism, as well as opportunities in medical, gastronomic, and ecological tourism in Uzbekistan.
The held B2B and G2B meetings between representatives of the tourism businesses of both countries contributed to establishing new business contacts and discussing promising areas of cooperation. In particular, preliminary agreements were reached on joint informational tours for Kuwaiti tour operators and journalists.
A photo exhibition titled “New Uzbekistan” was organized for the residents and guests of the Kuwait City. The exhibition showcased the wide-ranging reforms in the tourism sector under the leadership of President Sh.М. Mirziyoyev, the development of infrastructure and the creation of new tourist sites, cultural heritage monuments, national cuisine, crafts, and traditions of the Uzbek people.
The forum clearly demonstrated the high interest in Uzbekistan as a promising destination for Kuwaiti tourists. The successful event strengthened the country’s image in the Middle East and laid a solid foundation for further cooperation in the tourism sector.
