International Week of Pilgrimage Tourism was held in Bukhara

On November 27-29 of this year, the Committee on Tourism, the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Khokimiyat of the Bukhara Region organized events of the International Week of Pilgrimage Tourism "Tabarruk Ziyorat" in the city of Bukhara.

More than 100 participants took part in the International Week of Pilgrimage Tourism, including foreign guests from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, scientists, professors and teachers, religious figures, students, as well as guides and interpreters in the direction of pilgrimage tourism, tour operators, heads of hotel businesses and representatives of domestic and foreign media.

The week included seminars on the topics of "The Essence of Tabarruk Pilgrimage", "The Potential of Pilgrimage Tourism in Uzbekistan", "The Turkic World and Tabarruk Pilgrimage", "The Activities of the Organization of Turkic States in the Sphere of Tourism", "Sustainable Tourism and Respect for the Heritage of Ancestors", "Marketing of the Tabarruk Pilgrimage Route", "Alp Er Tonga", as well as a presentation of the tabarrukziyorat.uz website, acquaintance with companies operating in the region and "round tables" on problems in the sphere, "Internal Tourism Fair", the festival "Day of Bukhara Craftsmen", the official opening ceremony of the tourist village "Kurgon" of the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region and the tourist village "Shirin" of the Vobkent district, as well as the "Tourist Street" on Tandyrsozlar Street in the village of Ushot, Jondor district.

At the closing ceremony of the International Week of Pilgrimage Tourism, Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev emphasized the importance of developing pilgrimage tourism as a key area for strengthening international ties and spiritual exchange. "The forum demonstrated Uzbekistan's desire to become a center of world pilgrimage, preserving and enhancing the country's cultural and religious heritage," - the Chairman of the Committee.
