From July 3 to 9, 2025, the Tourism Committee, in cooperation with the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, is organizing an info tour for leading representatives of Malaysia’s tourism industry. The purpose of the tour is to widely promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.
The delegation includes leaders from the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the Association of Bumiputera Tourism Operators (BUMITRA), and PAPUH, along with 31 major travel companies operating in Umrah and Hajj, pilgrimage, and general tourism sectors. In addition, renowned Malaysian actress and TV host Adrea Abdullah has arrived in Uzbekistan to help promote the country's tourism potential in Malaysian media.
During their visit, the guests will explore the regions of Bukhara, Samarkand, Jizzakh, and the city of Tashkent, where they will become acquainted with Uzbekistan’s pilgrimage tourism potential, cultural heritage, and renowned Islamic pilgrimage sites. The program includes visits to the country's upgraded tourism infrastructure, newly opened hotels, digital guide services, modern transport systems, and tourist-friendly amenities.
Discussions on attracting tourists from Malaysia to Uzbekistan are also planned to take place during B2B meetings between tour operators from both countries.
