The most ancient settlements in the Syrdarya region began to appear along the Syrdarya river and mountain streams three thousand years ago. There are several important monuments of great historical value in this area. For example, in the Khavast region there is a large complex of shrines and archaeological sites "Kukhna Khavast".
The total area of "Kukhna Khavast" is 12 hectares. An expert on the history of Central Asia, Professor M.E. Masson said that the great highlands of Mirzachul are the central ruins of the medieval Khavast. There was a settlement on this highland, as a result of which archaeological excavations of the monument were impossible. Research is gradually being carried out and in the near future it is planned to open the ruins of the ancient city and several monuments. In total, there were 28 shrines in Khavast, today only 12 have survived. Several of them are open to the public and are listed below.
Khasti Buzrugon Mausoleum is the tomb of one of the great saints Jobir Boba. The legend tells how Jobir bobo came to these places to preach and spread the ideas of Islam among the population of Khavast. People respected and glorified him as a great man.
Mosque Sadu Sayyid. Since ancient times, the ancient mosque was called Namazgokh. In 2004, the building was rebuilt into a large mosque and renamed Sadu Sayyid in honor of the children of St. Jobir bobo.
The Mausoleum of Bibi Ocha is the tomb of one of the wisest women and the wife of St. Jobir bobo - Bibi Khadichi.
Mausoleum of Yusufbobo is the burial place of Saint Yusuf bobo. In history, he is listed as a talented blacksmith and doctor. For a long time, Yusuf Bobo was the patron of all blacksmiths.
Sherbobo Mausoleum is the resting place of Saint Sherbobo, whose real name is Ibrahim. This man led a defensive fortress from enemies. He was a tall and strong man - a real protector. Therefore, he received the nickname Sherbobo, because he fought with enemies like a lion.
Mazar Sayida is a holy place shrouded in secrets and legends. There is still no consensus on which saint is buried here. But local residents believe and believe that a holy man is buried in this grave.
