MALSamarkand will host an international chess tournament for the "Sakhibkiran Cup"
August 25- 29, 2021, the international chess tournament for the "Sahibkiran Cup" will be held at the Silk Road International University of Tourism in Samarkand. 
The main task of the tournament is to widely promote chess among the population and turn it into a mass sport, create the necessary conditions for the intellectual and cultural development of the younger generation, establish a system for selecting and training highly qualified young people as professional chess players and international grandmasters.
About 18 international grandmasters, 10 international masters of sports and 10 FIDE masters of sports from ten countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, the USA and Uzbekistan) will take part in the first international chess tournament “Sakhibkiran Cup” in the Samarkand region.
The competition is held according to the Swiss system in 9 rounds.
Chess players with a minimum international FIDE rating according to the 1700 standard are allowed to participate (as of August 1, 2021).
The rapid tournament will be held from August 25 to 27, the blitz tournament - on August 28.
The total prize fund is US $ 50,000: rapid – US $ 40,000, blitz - US $ 10,000.
