Strengthening Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation in the field of tourism discussed

The First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Djamshid Abdusalomov, held talks with the Minister of culture, sports, tourism, and youth affairs of Mongolia, Ms. Chinzorig Undram in Ulaanbaatar. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as additional measures to increase the flow of tourists between the two countries.

The discussion also covered the organization of joint events to promote mutual awareness, the arrangement of B2B meetings between tour operators, the launch of a press tour for leading Mongolian media and bloggers, and the development of unified cross-border tour packages across Central Asia for Mongolian and international tourists. These packages would include ancient cities and routes throughout Uzbekistan, as well as eco- and ethnotourism destinations.

In addition, the parties considered proposals for establishing educational exchange programs between the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the UN World Tourism Organization’s International Academy of Tourism in Samarkand.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to jointly implement projects aimed at increasing tourist flows in the future.
