The Toshmajid Complex is a beautiful complex with an intriguing history, steeped in legends and tales. It is known that the complex was built in the 16th century and consists of a mosque, minaret, madrasah, bathhouse, and an ancient cemetery.

The presence of a cemetery, madrasah, and bathhouse has led to the conclusion that a saint is buried here. A large courtyard occupies the center of the complex, with a Friday mosque (Jumah masjid) in the center. Art historians and historians suggest that this site was a major Sufi center in the 16th century. Some buildings were rebuilt, and others were demolished. Toshmajid complex courtyard

The complex's architectural style is built in the best traditions of the medieval architecture of the Bukhara oasis. The historian Badriddin Kashmir mentioned this site in his work "Rivzat ar-Rivzon and Hadiqat al-Ghilman." He wrote: "In the village of Vangozi, there was a Sinchli mosque, which eventually collapsed. Khwaja Sa'ad Jibari demolished the old mosque and built a new one of brick and a tall minaret next to it." Construction of the new mosque lasted six years and was completed in 1580. The building is constructed of baked brick with numerous columns and domes. A tall portal and a large blue dome are erected in the central part of its beautiful, three-dimensional composition.

The main building of the mosque contains a single room with two large and sixteen small identical domes. The main part of the mosque faces east, and a high pedestal stands at the entrance. Shallow niches are located on both sides of the pedestal, and its top is decorated with horizontal panels bearing epigraphic patterns. The building's four outer walls have a baked brick facade.

The minaret is awe-inspiring; visible from afar, it cannot fail to attract attention. It stands 24 meters high, with a base measuring 3.8 meters. Its foundation is stone. The base of the tower is adorned with a six-row, relief-like brick band, and the eight-arched cage at the top is decorated with ornate ornamentation at the base and end. The tower was built between 1583 and 1586.Minaret of the Toshmajid complexThe Toshmajid complex is of great value not only for Central Asia but also for the entire Muslim world in terms of preserving cultural heritage and architectural art.
