As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National PR-Center and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, the two sides have launched the “Highlights of the Silk Road” project. Within this framework, the parties are organizing a series of joint roadshows for tourism companies across Europe.
The official opening ceremony of the first roadshow under this initiative took place on October 13 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. During the event, German travel companies were introduced to the tourism opportunities offered by Uzbek and Azerbaijani partners.
The main goal of this cooperation is to unite the tourism potential of both countries under the “Highlights of the Silk Road” initiative. The project aims to jointly promote travel destinations in Central Europe and draw attention to the key historical landmarks of the Great Silk Road, including Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Baku, Shamakhi and Sheki.
The delegation included representatives of the Tourism Committee, the National PR-Center, Uzbekistan Airways JSC, and several tour operators — Versailles Travel LLC, Orient Mice DMC, Sanat Travel Experts JV, AROUNDCA LLC, Zamin DMC LLC, Anur Tour LLC, Bazaar Travel LLC, and Asia Tour Elite.
The event concluded with a cultural program featuring performances from both countries.
The "Highlights of the Silk Road" project will also be presented in other cities of Central Europe.
