On April 12, Uzbekistan launched the first train of the tourist express in the style of the ancient East. The project is implemented by JSC “O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari” (Uzbek Railways) jointly with the German travel company Lernidee Erlebnisreisen. The Orient Express will connect the ancient cities of Uzbekistan along the following routes: “Tashkent– Bukhara– Khiva – Samarkand–Kamashi–Kitab–Turkestan–Bishkek–Almaty”.

Most of the wagons are decorated in the national style, the walls are decorated with prints of Uzbek miniatures, curtains of adras are on the windows, red paths with oriental patterns are underfoot. In addition, each car has a shower, toilet, TV, wardrobes and other necessary things.
According to JSC “O'zbekiston temir yo'llari”, it is planned to launch 10 such international tourist trains that convey the atmosphere of the ancient East. The first passengers of the Orient Express will be tourists from Germany, Sweden, England, Luxembourg, Canada, Indonesia and Ireland.
