The travel magazine Wanderlust conducted a survey as part of its annual Reader Travel Awards, where travelers chose their favorite destinations. This year, 168,000 people participated in the voting, evaluating 22 different categories. Readers also voted for the most promising tourist destinations, and Uzbekistan was recognized as the most desirable emerging destination.
The magazine notes that “Uzbekistan, in addition to its historical treasures, boasts stunning natural landscapes—from the endless expanses of the Kyzylkum Desert to the shores of the Aral Sea. However, these beauties often remain in the shadows and do not receive the attention they deserve.”
“But that’s far from all that can be seen in Uzbekistan. The Nuratau Mountains are also located here. In addition, there is a unique opportunity to explore Uzbek culture more deeply by learning about the long history of winemaking and traditional cuisine, which has been included in UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage,” the article says.
In the ranking, Albania took second place, and Qatar came in third.
