In order to enhance the country's tourism potential and create new jobs, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued a Decree aimed at developing the tourist and recreational zone “Gelon” in the Shahrisabz district of the Kashkadarya region.
According to the document, a project will be implemented in Gelon, which involves the construction of a modern year-round resort with hotel complexes, cultural, and entertainment facilities.
The key stages of the project implementation include the creation of necessary infrastructure and the improvement of transportation networks, as well as attracting foreign and domestic investors. An important element is the establishment of a Directorate for the tourist and recreational zone, which will manage the project and oversee the construction of facilities in accordance with the master plan. The project also includes measures to protect the environment, including land inventory and monitoring compliance with environmental standards.
Uzbekistan also aims to actively promote the brand of the tourist zone both in domestic and international markets. An important aspect is attracting funding through concessional loans and grants, as well as creating comfortable conditions for tourists and minimizing the impact on the environment. Special attention is given to safety, environmental sustainability, and effective project management.
