According to the latest edition of the World Tourism Barometer published by UN Tourism, Uzbekistan has been ranked among the countries with the highest growth rates in international tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2026.
Between January and March 2026, the number of international visitors to Uzbekistan increased by 37% compared to the same period in 2025.
With this result, Uzbekistan ranked among the top five fastest-growing tourism destinations in the world, alongside Paraguay, New Caledonia, El Salvador, Mongolia, Ireland and Brunei.
This strong performance has been driven by the liberalization of visa policies, improved air connectivity and transport accessibility, the expansion of international hotel brands, proactive destination marketing efforts, and the promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in global markets.
In line with the Uzbekistan Tourism Development Strategy 2026–2030, the country aims to attract 20 million international visitors annually, increase tourism’s contribution to 7% of GDP, and raise tourism service exports to US$6 billion by 2030.
