MALUzbekistan takes part in the largest tourism exhibition “ITB Berlin 2024”
On March 5-7, 2024, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, takes part in “ITB Berlin” (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), the largest travel and tourism exhibition in the world, bringing together hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, online platforms, airlines and other experts in the tourism industry.
The event, held at the Messe Berlin exhibition complex in Berlin, is attended by more than 11 thousand representatives of the tourism sector and related industries from more than 180 countries around the world.
With the support of the Embassy of our country in Berlin and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) the national stand of Uzbekistan was organized at the exhibition, where participants and guests can get acquainted with the traditions, customs and rich culture of our country.
At the national stand, more than 30 domestic tourism organizations present their travel services and products, including «Uzbekistan Airways», international tourist complex «Silk Road Samarkand», the company «Rocket DMC Uzbekistan» and the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan participating in the exhibition with a delegation from among the representatives of the country's largest hotels.
In addition, the delegation of Uzbekistan holds a number of meetings with foreign partners to discuss prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector, aimed at promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan abroad and increasing the flow of tourists to our country.
More than 200 panel sessions with over 400 speakers are planned at the exhibition, and the number of visitors is expected to exceed 160 thousand.
According to official data, 29,608 tourists from Germany visited Uzbekistan in 2023.
