On May 18, the Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan will host the opening of the exhibition "When clay speaks ..." dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Master Ibodulla Nazrullayev. The name of the famous ceramist Usto Ibodulla is part of the glorious history of the Gijduvan dynasty of ceramicists, numbering seven generations.

The pottery industry of Gijduvan has a long history. For many centuries, the masters of Gijduvan supplied ceramics to the entire region. Potters from different cities came to study their art. Gijduvan ceramics are made of three types of clay: white, red and yellow. The products are natural, obtained in natural shades, and are distinguished by a special set of ornamental elements, among which geometric patterns are rarely found.

The exhibition will feature ceramics and archival photographic materials provided by the National Archive of Cinematographic Documents of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the exhibition, a scientific and practical conference "Ibodullo Nazrullayev: life, creativity, traditions" will be held in the conference hall of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan with the participation of art historians and folk craftsmen who will discuss the development of traditional ceramics art in modern Uzbekistan.

The exhibition presents 80 works by Master Ibodullo Narzullaev, which are stored in the fund of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. The works of his sons Alisher and Abdullo Narzullaev are also presented.

The event is timed to coincide with the international "Museum Day". The exhibition will last exactly a month.

The conference starts at 14.00.

The opening of the exhibition will take place at 17.00
